School started yesterday! I made two new friends, 2 Singaporean who gang hao sat beside me. I didn’t converse with them until the lesson ended. And throughout the lecture, they were talking to each other, that’s how I learnt that they’re Singaporeans. I asked the person on my left where your from, which poly? NP & NYP. I’m from SP! And just like that we click! Having attended poly, we’re on the same frequency. They asked if I would like to join them for lunch and being first day of school, we gia lai gia ki.
Day 2. My two friends and I sat separately because they entered the classroom after the lecturer started talking and I didn’t manage to tell them that “hey I’m here”. So the seats beside me were gradually being filled up by a Vietnamese on my right and a Chinese on my left. The module Cross Cultural Management requires that we form groups for the main assignment and we are obliged to form a group of five consisting of more than 2 countries, at most two Singaporeans with gender diversity within the group. Wow! Then somebody who’s sitting diagonally in front on the left asked me if I have form a group, not yet as my two Singaporean friends would hit max. And then she says: “I’m Singaporean.” “Where’re you from?” I asked. “I’m from SP” she replied. *Surprised* She’s from business admin and I don’t seem to see her in school before. We both have never seen each other in school before! Lol! And the search of group members goes on…. 2 Singaporeans, 1 Vietnamese, 1 Chinese and perhaps one more…
